Hockey is currently experiencing a disturbing trend towards increased verbal abuse and mistreatment of officials. North America is in a referee shortage, in part because of these kinds of behaviors.
We are taking this very seriously in 2022 and standing by a strong initiative of Zero-Tolerance for all games! Coaches, players and spectators MUST never verbally abuse an official from the bench, on the ice or from the stands. Anyone that is identified as doing such will be removed from the arena without question.
Respect the officials that are working the games! Coaches coach, players play, parents cheer! From mites to the NHL, referees are humans, doing their best for the game and deserve respect. Let's make youth hockey a place our kids will one day want to become an official!

Last Friday, May 12th the Wisconsin Blue Devils organization was notified that they had lost one of their U12 players. Evelyn Gurney from Reedsburg, WI passed away after being hit by a vehicle while waiting to get on the school bus. The news of Evelyn passing has shook our Blue Devils family along with her Reedsburg Hockey and Team Wisconsin Hockey Community.
Evelyn was new to our hockey program this season but made quite the impact with her caring, fun and spunky personality on and off the ice. Evelyn and her U12 Blue Devils teammates bonded quickly over the past couple months. The U12 girls have decided to play in this coming weekends Independent Classic Tournament to honor their friend and teammate. They know it will be a tough weekend emotionally, but they want to play for her!
The Gurney Family has dreams of offering a yearly scholarship along with bringing a new rink to Reedsburg in her honor.
Let’s help make this family’s dream a reality. Below is a link to the gofundme page that was set up by Evelyn’s friends. All proceeds will go directly to the Gurney family.
